Me!
Me!
My name is Elias, and I’m a photographer based in Northern Michigan.
I’m drawn to places and moments that still resist noise; night skies, forests, quiet towns, and the spaces where light gives way to darkness. Much of my work explores astrophotography and the natural world, not just as subjects, but as reminders of scale, time, and our place within something much larger than ourselves.
Photography, for me, is a way of paying attention. It’s an act of slowing down in a world that constantly demands speed. Whether I’m photographing distant galaxies or intimate human moments, I’m interested in presence; in seeing clearly, without excess.
A central focus of my work is The Right to Darkness, an ongoing project examining light pollution and its impact on both ecosystems and the human experience. I believe darkness is not something to be conquered, but something to be protected; for wildlife, for science, and for meaning.
A portion of my print sales goes to darksky.org & 350.org
Elias in Focus is not just a portfolio it’s an archive of attention, curiosity, and quiet observation.
